AAP MP Sanjay Singh Discusses Congress’s Defeat in Haryana Elections

AAP MP Sanjay Singh Discusses Congress’s Defeat in Haryana Elections

Haryana Assembly Election Results: AAP MP Sanjay Singh’s Reaction

In the recent Haryana Assembly elections, the Congress party faced a defeat, winning only 37 out of 90 seats, while the BJP secured 48 seats, paving the way for its third consecutive government in the state. AAP MP Sanjay Singh commented on the results, attributing Congress’s loss to strategic errors. He suggested that an alliance with AAP or the Samajwadi Party could have prevented the “Jat-non-Jat politics” and improved their chances, similar to the successful alliance in Jammu and Kashmir.

Sanjay Singh pointed out that 17 rebel candidates defeated Congress candidates, questioning how Congress could win under such circumstances. He also mentioned that AAP would contest elections independently in Delhi.

BJP’s Perspective on Congress’s Loss

BJP Haryana state president Mohan Lal Badoli blamed Bhupinder Singh Hooda for Congress’s defeat, stating that Congress candidates would reveal Hooda’s actions if asked. The BJP is set to decide on the Chief Minister, with Nayab Singh Saini being a potential candidate.

Congress’s Response to Election Results

Following the election results, Congress leader Bhupinder Hooda met with the Election Commission of India (ECI) to address complaints about the election process, including issues with electronic voting machines (EVMs). The Congress delegation, which included prominent leaders like KC Venugopal and Ashok Gehlot, demanded the sealing of faulty EVMs until investigations are complete. The ECI assured them that all complaints are being reviewed.
