AAP Criticizes Delhi LG Over CM Atishi’s Residence Eviction

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has accused Delhi Lieutenant Governor (LG) Vinai Kumar Saxena of forcibly removing Chief Minister Atishi’s belongings from her official residence at 6, Flagstaff Road. AAP claims this action was taken to allot the residence to a senior BJP leader. Delhi minister Saurabh Bharadwaj criticized the LG, stating that the belongings were removed because the keys were not handed over to the Public Works Department (PWD).

AAP spokesperson Priyanka Kakkar argued that the BJP is trying to undermine the elected AAP government and accused them of having an “anti-women” mentality, especially during Navratri. She stated that the former Chief Minister had already handed over the keys to the PWD on October 4th.

A source from the LG’s office clarified that the PWD manages the Chief Minister’s residence and will allot it according to rules. The source claimed that CM Atishi herself removed her belongings and that her allotted house is at AB-17, Mathura Road. The source assured that the bungalow will be allotted to the Chief Minister after inventory preparation.

Visuals from the residence showed PWD officials taking stock of the inventory.
