AAP and Congress Discuss Alliance for Haryana Elections

New Delhi, India – Amid speculation about seat sharing between the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and Congress for the upcoming Haryana elections, AAP MP and General Secretary, Organisation, Sandeep Pathak, stated that the party is ready to announce candidates as soon as leadership gives the order.

Pathak said, “Whatever information you all have, I also have the same information, Raghav ji would have briefed you all yesterday. But on behalf of the party, volunteers, and leadership of the party I can say that we are ready to contest elections with full strength everywhere, on every seat. Whoever underestimates us will regret it in the future.”

On Friday, AAP MP Raghav Chadha announced that Congress and AAP are discussing forming an alliance for the Haryana Assembly Elections in the national interest. “Talks are going on. We are hopeful that an alliance will form in favour of Haryana and the country. Every possible effort is being made,” Chadha said.

Additionally, AICC in-charge of Haryana, Deepak Babaria, confirmed talks with AAP for the polls. He mentioned that other INDIA bloc partners, including the Communist Party of India (CPIM) and the Samajwadi Party, have also approached them to fight the assembly elections together. Babaria stated, “Currently we are speaking to the Aam Aadmi Party. One or two other parties have also approached; we will respond in a day or two. CPI (M) and the Samajwadi Party approached us. They are expecting a very small number. They want to make their presence felt in the state. We are also looking for a seat that is convenient for us and them.”

Meanwhile, BJP spokesperson Shehzad Poonawala criticized the potential alliance, saying it lacks mission and vision. He further commented, “INDI alliance has no mission and vision. They have their own ambitions and operate through their confusion, and they have an obsession with Modi. They want to protect their corruption. That’s why they form an alliance in some places, however, it breaks later on. In Punjab, AAP and Congress are against each other. In Delhi, they were together earlier. Now there are uncertainties (between AAP and Congress) in Haryana.”
