Aaditya Thackeray Criticizes CM Eknath Shinde Over Mumbai BMW Hit-and-Run Case

Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Aaditya Thackeray has criticized Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde for his handling of the Mumbai BMW hit-and-run case. Thackeray accused Shinde of diverting attention from the case and questioned the delay in arresting the accused, Mihir Rajesh Shah.

The incident took place in Worli, where a BMW car ran over a couple riding a bike, killing the woman, Kaveri Nakhwa, and injuring her husband. Thackeray expressed his concerns on social media, questioning why the accused had not been caught despite the presence of CCTV cameras and an intelligence network.

Following the incident, CM Shinde directed the Commissioner of Police, Mumbai, to curb drunk driving cases and instructed the administration to check drivers on all roads and crowded places. The Mumbai Police has formed 14 teams to arrest Mihir Shah, who has been missing since the incident. A lookout notice has been issued for him.

Shinde expressed alarm at the rise in hit-and-run incidents in Maharashtra and assured that the guilty would not be spared. He emphasized that no one, regardless of their influence or connections, would have immunity under his leadership.

On July 7, Mihir’s father, Rajesh Shah, and another person, Raj Rishi Rajendra Singh Vidawat, were arrested for not cooperating with the police. The police revealed that Mihir had visited a pub in Juhu with friends before the incident. The police are continuing their efforts to locate and arrest Mihir Shah.
