In Satna, Madhya Pradesh, veterinary doctors successfully performed a surgery to remove a tumor from a 21-year-old parrot. The parrot’s owner, Chandrabhan Vishwakarma, noticed a lump on its neck six months ago, which was causing the bird difficulty in eating and speaking.

Dr. Balendra Singh, a veterinary doctor, examined the parrot and advised surgery. The operation took place on Sunday, September 15, and lasted around two hours. The doctors removed a 20-gram tumor from the parrot, which weighed 98 grams.

Dr. Singh mentioned that this was the first case of a bird tumor in the district. The parrot is now completely healthy and eating properly. The tumor has been sent to Rewa veterinary college for further examination.
