Special Langar at Ajmer Dargah Celebrates PM Modi’s Birthday

Ajmer, Rajasthan – On Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday, a special langar was organized at the Badi Deg of Sufi Saint Khwaja Garib Nawaz’s Dargah in Ajmer. As part of the Seva Pakhwada (Service Fortnight), 4000 kg of sweet rice was prepared and distributed to pilgrims.

Early Preparations and Excitement

Preparations for the langar, including decorations around the Deg, began early in the day. Syed Afshan Chishty, the Gaddi Nashin (caretaker) of the Ajmer Sharif Dargah, expressed the excitement, saying, “It is already 3 o’clock in the morning, and people are very excited and eating the langar we have arranged in the name of Haj Garib Nawaz. On the occasion of PM sahab’s birthday, everyone is eating here, and even at 3 o’clock in the morning, the service of langar that we bought is the real message.”

Invitation to PM Modi

Syed Afshan Chishty also invited Prime Minister Modi to visit Ajmer Sharif, emphasizing the message of love and peace that PM Modi has always promoted: ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vishwas.’

Langar Distribution and Prayers

Haji Syed Salman Chishty, Chairman of the Chishty Foundation, highlighted the significance of the event, stating, “It is 3 am here, and the langar has started being distributed to all. The pilgrims are seated, and langar is being distributed with prayers. It is a happy occasion, and the Seva Pakhwada has started from the beg Deg in Ajmer Dargah.”

He further added that the langar, which is pure vegetarian, symbolizes the message of unity in diversity preached by Khwaja Garib Nawaz for centuries. The event was supported by the Indian Minority Foundation and the Chishty Foundation and attended by locals and pilgrims from various faiths.

Message of Service and Unity

Haji Syed Salman Chishty also shared the teachings of Khwaja Garib Nawaz, emphasizing compassion, grace, and hospitality. He prayed for the health and well-being of the 140 crore citizens of India and the nation’s prosperity. The langar continued until the early morning, with prayers being offered for the nation and its people.
