Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually flagged off the Durg-Vishakhatpatnam Vande Bharat Express train from Raipur railway station. The train, which travels at 160 km/h, will cover the distance in eight hours, significantly faster than the local train’s eleven to twelve hours.

Loco pilot J D Navrengay highlighted the train’s safety and modern features, noting that the engine will not start unless all doors are closed. He emphasized the train’s cleanliness and hygiene.

Excitement Among Passengers

School children were taken on board for the maiden journey and expressed their enthusiasm. Diksha Sahu, a student, shared her excitement about the train’s cleanliness and unique experience compared to local trains.

Impact on Travel

School principal Bhushan Paragniya praised the train for reducing travel time and its modern facilities. He believes that more Vande Bharat trains will contribute to Chhattisgarh’s rapid growth.

Flagging Off Ceremony

The ceremony was attended by Chhattisgarh Governor Raman Deka, Union Minister Tokhan Sahu, Member of Parliament Brijmohan Aggarwal, and MLAs Purender Mishra and Khushwant Saheb.
