Mohammed Ryan Wins Big at Indian Racing Festival in Chennai

Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India – September 16: It was an exciting day for the Chennai Turbo Riders as Mohammed Ryan turned his pole position start into a maiden win at the Indian Racing Festival. The event took place at the Madras International Circuit (MIC) on Sunday.

Highlights of the Race

The 22-year-old Ryan, who is the 2019 Rotax Karting champion, had a brilliant start and maintained consistent fast laps to secure his first win in the Indian Racing League (IRL). This victory followed his teammate Jon Lancaster’s success in Race 1. Ryan’s win triggered celebrations among the Chennai Turbo Riders.

While Ryan sped ahead, Sohil Shah from Goa Aces JA Racing moved past Jaden Pariat of Bangalore Speedsters at Turn-1. Pariat then lost another spot to his teammate Rishon Rajeev. The top three maintained their positions, while others fought for points.

Ryan expressed his joy, saying, “I had a good start and kept my focus to put in some consistent laps. I am happy that my team, Chennai Turbo Riders, won both the IRL races this weekend and picked up some big points.”

Formula 4 Indian Championship

The Formula 4 Indian Championship saw three different winners in three races. Ruhaan Alva of Shrachi Rarh Bengal Tigers, Veer Sheth of Ahmedabad Apex Racers, and South African Aqil Alibhai of Black Birds Hyderabad each took a win.

In the first race, Alva moved to the front in the first lap and remained unstoppable. The race saw a Safety Car intervention, but Alva continued to victory, also recording the fastest lap.

In the second race, Jaden Pariat initially led but was penalized for causing a collision, which dropped him to eighth place. Veer Sheth, Ruhaan Alva, and Abhay Mohan moved up to finish first, second, and third, respectively.

In the final race, Alibhai moved from P3 to P1 before Turn-1 and maintained his lead to win by nearly 19 seconds. Divy Nandan and Ruhaan Alva finished second and third.

FMSCI Indian National Championship

In the FMSCI Indian National Championship, Tijil Rao from Bengaluru led a podium sweep for Dark Don Racing. Starting from P5, he secured his third win in six starts this season. His teammates Viswas Vijayaraj and Bala Prasath finished second and third.

Despite losing the front nose cone of his car, Bala Prasath showcased excellent defensive driving to hold off rookie Dhruv Goswami, who started from P12 and topped the Rookie category.
