Incident Details
The incident occurred at Trump International Golf Club in Florida. West Palm Beach Sheriff Ric Bradshaw stated that the Secret Service fired rounds around 1:30 pm ET after spotting a rifle barrel. The individual, who was 300-500 yards away from Trump, was arrested by the Martin County Sheriff’s Office.
Witness Account
A witness reported seeing the suspect running out of the bushes and jumping into a black Nissan, providing a picture of the vehicle and its tag.
Trump’s Response
Trump assured supporters of his safety in a fundraising email, stating, “There were gunshots in my vicinity, but before rumors start spiraling out of control, I wanted you to hear this first: I AM SAFE AND WELL!”
