Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal Visits Hanuman Temple After Bail in Excise Policy Case
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, along with his wife Sunita Kejriwal, offered prayers at the Hanuman temple in Connaught Place on Saturday. This visit came a day after he was granted bail by the Supreme Court in the Delhi excise policy case.
Former Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia and AAP MP Sanjay Singh also joined Kejriwal at the temple. The Supreme Court granted Kejriwal bail but imposed several conditions. These include submitting a surety bond of Rs 10 lakh and restrictions on entering the CM office and signing official documents.
Kejriwal’s lawyer, Rishikesh Kumar, explained that Kejriwal must attend all trial dates unless exempted by the court. The conditions are similar to those imposed during his bail in the ED arrest case. Kejriwal was arrested by the ED on March 21, 2024, and later by the CBI on June 26, 2024, in connection with alleged irregularities in the now-cancelled Delhi excise policy 2021-22.
