Gujarat CM Bhupendra Patel Allocates Extra Funds for Roadworks in Municipal Areas
Gandhinagar (Gujarat) [India], September 10: Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel has made a significant decision to allocate an additional Rs 2 crore to each MLA in municipal corporation areas for roadworks in their constituencies.
MLAs in these areas receive grants from the Urban Development Department for constructing new concrete or asphalt roads, resurfacing old roads, and installing paver blocks where needed. In addition to these grants, Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel has approved an extra Rs 2 crore per MLA from the Roads and Buildings Department for roadworks.
The Roads and Buildings Department will allocate a total of Rs 86 crore to 43 MLAs in municipal corporation areas for this purpose. This decision aims to enhance urban well-being by allowing prompt repair of road damage caused during monsoons. The improvements and strengthening of roads will also enhance urban mobility.
Municipal Corporations are instructed to execute these projects in consultation with the respective MLAs.
