Kane Williamson Prepares for New Zealand’s Big Test Series in Asia
New Zealand cricketer Kane Williamson is gearing up for a challenging eight-week tour in Asia. The team will play six Tests against Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, and India over the next two months.
Adapting to Asian Conditions
Williamson emphasized the need for the team to adapt to Asian conditions, as they haven’t played many Tests in the subcontinent recently. He said, “You know, such a volume of Test cricket that we don’t usually get, and obviously in this part of the world.”
Tour Schedule
The tour starts with a one-off Test against Afghanistan and includes two Tests against Sri Lanka. It will conclude with a three-match series against India.
Williamson’s Experience
Williamson, part of the ‘FAB 4’, has yet to fully master the Asian conditions. In 22 innings, he averages 31.36 with only five fifty-plus scores. He is looking forward to the experience and challenge, especially with New Zealand playing their first-ever Test against Afghanistan.
“It’s really important that we look to grow as a unit. It’s nice and clear on how we want to play over here,” Williamson noted.
