Paris, France – September 4: Ajeet Singh, a para-athlete, won a silver medal in the F46 javelin throw category at the Paris Paralympics. He achieved a personal best throw of 65.62 meters. His teammate, Sundar Singh Gurjar, secured the bronze medal with a season-best throw of 64.96 meters. Cuba’s Guillermo took the gold with a throw of 66.14 meters.

High Competition Among Indian Athletes

Ajeet Singh expressed his happiness over winning the silver medal and mentioned the intense competition within India’s javelin throw circuit. He noted that this competition is beneficial for athletes. Ajeet also spoke about his determination to win a gold medal, especially after missing out in the Tokyo Paralympics due to an injury.

He praised his fellow Indian athletes, including Rinku, who finished fifth, and Sundar Singh Gurjar. Ajeet believed that a triple podium finish was possible and highlighted Rinku’s potential to turn his last throw into a gold medal-winning throw.

This surpasses their previous best of 19 medals at the Tokyo Paralympics. Para-athlete Sachin Khilari also won a silver medal in the men’s shot put F46 final with a throw of 16.32 meters.
