Six-Year-Old Anayasha Budhiraja from Ludhiana Sets Guinness World Record with Sanskrit Shloka Books

Anayasha Budhiraja, a six-year-old girl from Ludhiana, has made history by earning a Guinness World Record. She achieved this by writing two bilingual books on Sanskrit shlokas, titled ‘My Journey of Learning 100 Shlokas’ and ‘How to Learn 100 Shlokas Easily.’

Family Support and Inspiration

Anayasha is the daughter of Dr. Sanchit Budhiraja, a gastroenterologist, and Dr. Ravika Kanishk Budhiraja, a dermatologist. Her passion for learning Sanskrit shlokas began at just eight months old, inspired by her grandmother who introduced her to the Shri Hanuman Chalisa.

Encouragement from Parents

Dr. Sanchit Budhiraja shared that their household does not permit television, which has fostered a love for books in their children. Noticing Anayasha’s growing interest in Sanskrit shlokas, her mother, Dr. Ravika, encouraged her to author these books. ‘When she was very young, we could see that she was picking up really well. We started teaching her shlokas. She was just five years old when she learnt 100 shlokas. All the shlokas she had learnt, she penned down in a book. It has a lot of illustrations and drawings,’ Dr. Budhiraja said.

Previous Recognition and Dedication

Anayasha had previously received recognition in the Book of World Records and aspired to achieve a Guinness World Record. Through dedication and adherence to the required guidelines, she accomplished this remarkable feat.

Strong Cultural Roots

Dr. Ravika Budhiraja emphasized the importance of connecting children with their cultural roots while ensuring they progress in life with a strong sense of religion and culture. Speaking of her achievement, Anayasha said, ‘I did all this through hard work and dedication.’
