Students Protest Against Discipline Incharge at Sarojini Naidu School in Bhopal

In Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, students of Sarojini Naidu Government Girls Higher Secondary School protested against the discipline incharge, Varsha Jha, on Wednesday. They accused her of giving harsh punishments for being late, including making them stand in the scorching heat, which sometimes caused students to faint.

The students vandalized school property, staged demonstrations inside and outside the school, and blocked roads. They demanded the removal of Varsha Jha from her position.

School Principal Malini Verma explained that Varsha Jha, a retired military captain, was appointed as the discipline incharge and was enforcing discipline without giving any punishments. ACP Habibganj, Mayur Khandelwal, stated that the police were called to manage the situation and coordinate with the school management.

Eventually, the students’ demands were met, and Varsha Jha was removed from her position. District Education Officer Narendra Kumar confirmed the removal and urged students to return to their classes.

Retired military captain -: A retired military captain is someone who used to be an officer in the military but has now stopped working in the military.

Police -: Police are people who make sure everyone follows the law and help keep us safe.
