Chief Minister Mohan Yadav Expresses Grief Over Damoh Tractor-Trolley Accident
Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has expressed his sorrow over a tragic accident involving a tractor-trolley in Damoh district, Madhya Pradesh. The vehicle, carrying devotees from Ghugus village to Jatashankar Dham, overturned near Fatehpur village, resulting in four deaths and 28 injuries.
Details of the Accident
The accident occurred on the night between Sunday and Monday. According to Damoh Collector Sudhir Kumar Kochar, the newly acquired tractor-trolley was carrying about 40 people. Two people died at the scene, and two others succumbed to their injuries during treatment. Six seriously injured individuals are receiving treatment at Damoh District Hospital, while 22 others were treated at the civil hospital in Hatta and discharged by Monday evening.
Chief Minister’s Response
Chief Minister Mohan Yadav announced an ex-gratia payment of Rs 2 lakh each to the families of the deceased and Rs 50,000 each to the injured. In a post on X, the Chief Minister’s office stated: “We have received the sad news of the untimely death of devotees in an accident involving a tractor-trolley full of devotees travelling to Jatashankar Mahadev from Ghugus village, Damoh district. Our condolences are with the bereaved families. The families of the deceased will receive financial assistance of Rs 2 lakh each, and the injured will be given Rs 50,000 each.”
He also prayed for the departed souls and wished a speedy recovery to the injured.
