Biplab Deb Welcomes New Haryana Election Dates for Maximum Voter Turnout

New Delhi, India, August 31: The Election Commission of India has changed the dates for the Haryana assembly polls from October 1 to October 5. Biplab Deb, the BJP co-election in-charge of the Haryana Assembly, expressed his support for this decision, stating it will help achieve maximum voter turnout.

Deb mentioned that the BJP had written a letter to the Election Commission requesting the date change, and other parties followed suit. The change was made to ensure that people, especially from the Bishnoi community, who might travel for festivals on October 1, can vote.

Deb emphasized the importance of voting in a democratic country, calling it a ‘festival of democracy.’ He denied opposition claims that the date change was to benefit the BJP, stating that the goal is to ensure maximum participation in the elections.

He also highlighted the BJP’s efforts under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, mentioning employment opportunities provided in Haryana. Deb concluded by saying that the public will decide the election outcome.

Additionally, the Election Commission has moved the counting of votes for both Jammu and Kashmir and Haryana Assemblies from October 4 to October 8.
