Paris [France], August 31: In the ongoing Paris Paralympics, Indian para-rowers Anita and Narayana Kongannapalle have advanced to the Final B of the mixed doubles sculls event. The duo finished third in their repechage round with a time of 7:54.33 minutes.

The repechage rounds determined the final placements, with the top two athletes from each round moving to Final A, and the next two to Final B. Anita and Narayana will compete in Final B on Sunday at 2:00 PM.

The Sports Authority of India (SAI) shared the news on social media, wishing the pair good luck for their upcoming race. The finals will be broadcast live on DD Sports and Jio Cinema.

India has already secured four medals in the ongoing Paralympics, including a gold by Avani Lekhara in the women’s R2 10 m air rifle standing SH1 event, a silver by Manish Narwal in the men’s P1 10 m air pistol SH1 event, and two bronze medals by Mona Agarwal in shooting and Preethi Pal in the women’s T35 100 m race.

This year, India has sent its largest Paralympics contingent ever, with 84 athletes competing in 12 sports. The country aims to surpass its previous achievements from the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics, where India won 19 medals, including five golds.
