Chateauroux, France, August 30: Avani Lekhara, the reigning Paralympic champion, and shooter Mona Agarwal have qualified for the final of the women’s 10m air rifle standing SH1 event in the ongoing Paralympics on Friday.

Mona finished the qualification round with a score of 623.1, securing the fifth spot, while Avani took the second spot with a score of 625.8.

Ukraine shooter Iryna Shchetnik, who holds the qualification world record, broke the Paralympic qualification record with a score of 627.5, surpassing the previous mark of 626.0 set by China’s Zhang Cuiping in Tokyo.

Avani started with a 10.6 shot, while Mona began with a 10.3. Avani ended the first series in the 10th position with a score of 102.9 points, while Mona scored 103.9 points to take the fifth spot.

In the second series, Avani moved up to the third spot with a score of 105.5 points. Mona slipped to the sixth spot with a score of 103.4 points.

In the third series, Avani stayed in the third spot with 103.4 points, while Mona moved to the fourth spot with 103.8 points.

In the fourth series, Avani took the top spot with 105.3 points, while Mona slipped to the fifth position with a 9.9 shot.

Avani maintained her top position in the fifth series with a score of 105.6 points. Mona slipped to the sixth position with a score of 104.1 points.

In the final series, Avani ended with 103.1 points, while Mona shined under pressure and scored 105.5 points.
