Kamala Harris Talks About Trump’s Comments and Her Plans for the Future

Washington DC [US], August 30: US Vice-President Kamala Harris and her running mate Tim Walz had their first interview with CNN since President Joe Biden withdrew from his White House bid. CNN’s Dana Bash asked Harris about Donald Trump’s racial comments, where he questioned her identity. Harris dismissed the comments, calling them ‘Same old, tired playbook.’

Trump had previously attacked Harris on August 1, questioning her identity by saying she ‘turned Black’ after promoting her Indian heritage for years. Harris responded by focusing on her plans if elected, emphasizing her commitment to bolstering the middle class, making housing more affordable, and expanding the child tax credit.

Harris also discussed her foreign policy stance, particularly on US aid to Israel in its conflict with Gaza. She called for a ceasefire and a two-state solution, ensuring security and dignity for both Israelis and Palestinians.

Tim Walz, Harris’s running mate, was questioned about exaggerations regarding his military record. Walz admitted he misspoke and emphasized his passion for addressing gun violence, especially in schools.
