Tripura Floods: 32 Lives Lost, Relief Efforts Underway with Help from Arunachal Pradesh
Since August 19, continuous rainfall and floods in Tripura have resulted in 32 deaths, 2 injuries, and 1 missing person. The state has declared itself a ‘Natural Calamity Affected Area’ and set up 346 relief camps for over 52,000 people.
An Inter Ministerial Central Team (IMCT) led by BC Joshi, Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Home Affairs, is assessing the damage in South Tripura and Gomati Districts.
The Labour Department is providing one-time financial assistance of Rs 4000 each to 42,981 registered flood-affected construction workers. The distribution of registered workers by district is as follows:

Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu has sanctioned Rs 5 crore from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund for immediate assistance. He expressed solidarity with the people of Tripura, stating, ‘We stand in solidarity with you, and together, we will overcome this crisis.’
