In a significant administrative shift, the Centre has announced the appointment of Rajwinder Singh Bhatti as the new Director General of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) and Daljit Singh Chaudhary as the new chief of the Border Security Force (BSF).
Rajwinder Singh Bhatti
Rajwinder Singh Bhatti, a 1990-batch Bhopal cadre Indian Police Service (IPS) officer, will serve as the Director General of CISF until September 30, 2025, or until further orders. Bhatti, who gained fame for arresting former Siwan MP Md Shahabuddin in 2005, was appointed as the Director General of Police (DGP) of Bihar in December 2022. Known for his strict and no-nonsense approach, Bhatti has held various significant positions, including ADG (East Command of Seema Suraksha Bal), City SP of Patna, and joint director of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
Daljit Singh Chaudhary
Daljit Singh Chaudhary, also a 1990-batch IPS officer, is currently serving as the Director General of the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB). He has been appointed to lead the BSF and will serve until November 30, 2025. Chaudhary’s extensive experience in various roles makes him a suitable choice for this important position.
