Washington DC [United States], August 28: Former US President and Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump has named Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Tulsi Gabbard to his transition team. This team will help Trump select personnel and develop policies for a possible second term in the White House.
Brian Hughes, a senior adviser for Trump’s campaign, stated, “As President Trump’s broad coalition of supporters and endorsers expands across partisan lines, we are proud that Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Tulsi Gabbard have been added to the Trump/Vance Transition team. We look forward to having their powerful voices on the team as we work to restore America’s greatness.”
Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who recently dropped out of the presidential race, and Tulsi Gabbard, a former Democratic congresswoman from Hawaii, have both recently shown their support for Trump. Kennedy, an environmental lawyer, has been a prominent opponent of vaccine mandates and has criticized the influence of pharmaceutical companies on the federal government.
On August 24, Kennedy Jr. suspended his presidential campaign and endorsed Trump, accusing the Democratic Party of “abandoning democracy” and engaging in “continued legal warfare” against him and Trump. He announced his decision in a speech in Phoenix, withdrawing his name from the ballot in battleground states.
Gabbard, who left the Democratic Party in 2022, also endorsed Trump for the upcoming presidential polls in November. She expressed concerns about the current administration’s handling of international conflicts and the risk of nuclear war. Gabbard ran an unsuccessful presidential campaign in the Democratic primary in 2020 and has since distanced herself from the Democratic Party.
