Delhi Police Arrests Ravi After Shootout in Gokalpuri

New Delhi [India], August 27: A man named Ravi, who was wanted in seven criminal cases, including three murders, has been arrested after a brief shootout with police in Gokalpuri. Ravi, 42, sustained a gunshot wound to his left leg during the encounter.

Ravi is the main suspect in the murder of 44-year-old Neeraj Arora, which occurred on August 24 in Gokalpur village, Delhi. He also faces charges of dacoity, extortion, criminal assault, and possession of illegal firearms.

The police team, led by Inspector Praveen Kumar, had been tracking Ravi’s movements since the murder. On August 26, they intercepted him in Gokalpuri. Ravi fired at the police, who returned fire, injuring him. He was then arrested, and a pistol and a stolen motorcycle were recovered from his possession.

Three other suspects in the Neeraj Arora case, identified as 38-year-old Ravi, 35-year-old Bhupender (Jalim), and 37-year-old Neeraj Kumar, have also been arrested. The murder followed an argument during a drinking session in a park near Loni Gol Chakkar.

Ravi has been booked under various sections of the law for firing at the police and resisting arrest. He is currently receiving treatment at GTB Hospital.
