Devotees Celebrate Shri Krishna Janmashtami at ISKCON Temples Across India

New Delhi, August 26: Devotees gathered at ISKCON Temples across the country to celebrate Shri Krishna Janmashtami, offering prayers to Lord Krishna. Vrajendra Nandan Das, ISKCON National Communications Director & VP, East Of Kailash, announced that ‘Maha Arti’ would be held at midnight.

Celebrations in New Delhi

In New Delhi, devotees thronged the ISKCON Temple in East of Kailash. The temple opened its doors at 4:30 pm, and thousands of devotees arrived to catch a glimpse of Lord Krishna. The ‘Maha Abhishek’ ceremony was scheduled for 9:30 pm, followed by ‘Chhappan Bhog’ at 11 pm, and ‘Maha Arti’ at midnight.

Other Celebrations

Morning aarti was performed at Dwarka’s ISKCON Temple and Shri Lakshmi Narayan Temple, also known as Birla Temple. In Mathura, morning aarti was held at the Shri Krishna Janmasthan temple, where women devotees sang songs dedicated to Lord Krishna.

Security Arrangements in Mathura

Mathura Superintendent (Security) Bajrang Bali Chaurasia reported that over 2000 security personnel were deployed in the region. Drones were used to ensure safety, and the area was divided into three zones, each supervised by an additional SP. Proper parking arrangements were made, and UP CM Yogi Adityanath was expected to arrive. Teams of ATS, commandos, and fire services were also deployed.

Celebrations in Other Cities

In Mumbai, morning aarti was performed at Chowpatty’s ISKCON Temple. In Ahmedabad, Gujarat, large numbers of devotees gathered at the ISKCON Temple to celebrate.
