A 15-year-old boy tragically lost his life after drowning in the Chanakyapuri area of New Delhi during heavy rain on Friday. According to Delhi police officials, the incident happened around noon when the boy was playing outside and the water flow increased rapidly, leading to his drowning.

Earlier in the day, severe waterlogging and massive traffic congestion were witnessed in several parts of Delhi after heavy rain lashed the capital city. Visuals from Dhaula Kuan showed massive traffic congestion due to waterlogging, with commuters wading through waterlogged roads and vehicles struggling to cross.

One commuter reported being stuck in traffic for three hours. Meanwhile, the Delhi Police conveyed that waterlogging at Anand Parvat, which had affected traffic on New Rohtak Road from Zakhira to Kamal T-Point, has been cleared.

On Friday morning, the capital city and its adjoining regions experienced heavy spells of rain.
