21.67 Lakh New Workers Join ESIC in June 2024

In June 2024, 21.67 lakh new workers enrolled under the Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) scheme. This is an increase of 1.40 lakh workers compared to June 2023, when 20.27 lakh employees were added.
Young Employees Lead Registrations
About 10.58 lakh of the new registrations were young employees up to the age of 25, making up around 49% of the total new registrations.
Female and Transgender Employee Data
The number of female employees enrolled in the ESI Scheme stood at 4.32 lakh. Additionally, 55 transgender employees were registered under the scheme in June 2024.
New Establishments
In June 2024, 13,483 new establishments were brought under the social security ambit of the ESI Scheme, ensuring social security for more workers.
Year-on-Year Growth
The year-on-year analysis shows a growth of 7% in net registrations compared to June 2023. The payroll data is provisional as data generation is a continuous exercise.
