BJP MP Manoj Tiwari Speaks on Tragic Events in West Bengal and Maharashtra

New Delhi, India – Bharatiya Janata Party MP, Manoj Tiwari, has expressed deep sorrow over the sexual assault and murder of a female doctor at RG Kar Medical College in Kolkata, West Bengal. The incident, which occurred on August 9, has led to nationwide protests by the medical community.

Tiwari alleged that the crime was carried out in a coordinated manner, with attempts made to erase evidence. He urged protesting doctors to return to work, assuring them that the culprits, who he believes are part of a larger gang, will be identified and brought to justice.

He stated, “There is no doubt that in society, every person and artist living is extremely sad it cannot be expressed in words. I will request all the doctors that whoever is on strike should return to work. The culprit will be identified because there is not just one culprit in this but it is a whole gang.”

He further added, “A crowd of about 6000 to 7000 entered the hospital and tried to break and destroy the hospital and the evidence. The hospital chief tried to term the incident as a suicide and his supporters attacked the hospital. This is not a normal incident. The accused in the murder and rape of the female doctor working at RG Kar will be found out. It is our prayer that no one should be spared. But we also pray that the doctor should come to his work.”

The Supreme Court has formed a 10-member National Task Force to recommend measures for preventing violence and ensuring safe working conditions for medical professionals. The task force includes Surgeon Vice Admiral Arti Sarin and others. The court has directed the task force to submit an interim report within three weeks and a final report within two months. Additionally, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and the West Bengal government have been asked to file status reports on the investigation and the mob attack incident, respectively.

In another incident, Tiwari commented on the alleged sexual assault of two minor girls in Badlapur, Maharashtra. He assured that the government, led by the NDA coalition, will ensure that the culprits receive the harshest punishment. He said, “The Chief Minister of the government have gone to the spot and no one will be spared in this. All these incidents are disturbing. There is an NDA coalition government in Maharashtra, so I want to assure you that the culprit cannot escape, whoever has done this will get the harshest punishment.”
