New Delhi [India], August 17: Within a day, 72,277 students have accepted their allotted programs and colleges at Delhi University, exceeding the 71,600 available undergraduate seats. A total of 97,387 candidates were allocated seats in the first round of seat allocation.

DU Dean of Admission, Haneet Gandhi, provided an update, stating, “As many as 72,277 out of 97,387 (till around 4:10 pm) have confirmed their seats by accepting the college and program offered to them.”

The university has asked candidates to submit their fees by August 21. Admissions are being conducted across 69 colleges and 1,559 program-college combinations. This year, the university has introduced a new feature on the candidate dashboard, allowing students to see cutoff details and ranks for seat allocation based on their category and quota.
