Punjab Police Arrest Key Accused in 2023 Heroin Case
Faridkot police in Punjab have arrested Gulab Singh, a key suspect in the 2023 heroin recovery case. Financial investigations are ongoing to trace the money trail and freeze assets acquired through illegal drug activities.
Major Breakthrough in Narco Smuggling
Director General of Police, Punjab, Gaurav Yadav, announced the arrest on X, stating that Gulab Singh was involved in delivering 36 kg of heroin and had connections with Pakistan-based smugglers. His arrest is expected to disrupt the smuggling network and prevent future trafficking.
Illegal Arms Smuggling Crackdown
On August 16, the State Special Operation Cell (SSOC) in SAS Nagar arrested an individual involved in an inter-state arms smuggling racket. Four illegal .32 pistols were recovered. The accused was supplying illegal arms in Punjab from Madhya Pradesh.
Anti Gangster Task Force Success
On August 14, the Anti Gangster Task Force of Punjab Police arrested five individuals, including mastermind Sunil Bhandari alias Nata, wanted in several heinous crimes, including three recent killings in Ferozepur. The gang was apprehended near National Highway Rajpura, and 5 pistols with 40 live cartridges and two vehicles were recovered.
