The Indian diaspora in the UK hosted a grand celebration for India’s 78th Independence Day in Slough, Berkshire. The event was organized by the Indian Diaspora in the UK (IDUK) group and attended by many prominent personalities from the Indian community.

Flag Hoisting Ceremony

The highlight of the event was the flag hoisting ceremony, led by the Mayor of Slough, Balwinder Singh Dhillon. The Indian tricolour soared proudly as the crowd honoured the spirit of freedom and unity. Mayor Dhillon appreciated IDUK’s efforts in bringing the community together.

Slough Council Leader Dexter Smith expressed his admiration for the community’s dedication, noting the strong bond between India and the UK. Several esteemed guests, including Ex-Army Officer Ashok Chauhan and various councillors, contributed to the success of the celebration.
