Babar Azam to Bat at Number Four in Pakistan’s Test Series Against Bangladesh

Pakistan’s star batter Babar Azam will play at the number four spot in the upcoming two-match Test series against Bangladesh. Abdullah Shafiq will continue as an opener, and captain Shan Masood will bat at number three.

Babar has previously batted at number three in limited-over cricket, but this changed during Pakistan’s tour of Australia last year. In 2022, he batted at number three during the tour of Sri Lanka and the second Test against England. Now, he will bat at number four.

Muhammad Huraira is a strong candidate to make his debut in this series. Pakistan’s bowling line-up will include three fast bowlers—Shaheen Afridi, Naseem Shah, and Mir Hamza—and one spinner.

The series will start on August 21 at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. The second Test will be held from August 30 to September 3 in Karachi. Due to ongoing renovations at Karachi’s National Stadium, spectators will not be allowed for the second Test.
