Kuwait Leaders Congratulate President Droupadi Murmu on India’s 78th Independence Day

Top leaders from Kuwait extended their congratulations to President Droupadi Murmu on the occasion of India’s 78th Independence Day. Amir Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah sent a congratulatory message expressing his good wishes for India and its people. Crown Prince Sabah Al-Khalid Al-Sabah and Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Al-Abdullah Al-Sabah also extended their greetings and best wishes.

Celebrations were held at the Indian Embassy in Kuwait, with a large participation from the Indian community. Indian Ambassador to Kuwait, Adarsh Swaika, unfurled the tricolour and read out President Murmu’s address to the nation. The Indian envoy shared glimpses of the event on social media, highlighting the vibrant participation of the Indian community.

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar is scheduled to visit Kuwait on August 18. During his visit, he will meet Kuwait Foreign Minister Abdullah Ali Al-Yahya and other leaders to discuss various aspects of bilateral relations, including political, trade, investment, energy, security, cultural, consular, and people-to-people contacts. The visit aims to strengthen ties and exchange views on regional and international issues of mutual interest.

In India, Prime Minister Narendra Modi hoisted the national flag at the Red Fort in New Delhi for the 11th consecutive time. The theme for this year’s Independence Day is ‘Viksit Bharat @ 2047,’ focusing on transforming India into a developed nation by 2047.
