New Delhi, India – August 14: BJP spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia has criticized West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee for her handling of the tragic death of a doctor at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital in Kolkata. Accusations Against Mamata Banerjee

Gaurav Bhatia accused Mamata Banerjee of delaying the transfer of the case to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), which he believes would have ensured an unbiased investigation and protected the crime scene. He questioned why the case was not immediately handed over to the CBI, emphasizing the importance of the first 48 hours for evidence collection.

Bhatia also criticized the Kolkata Police for their initial response, claiming they failed to register a First Information Report (FIR) and instead categorized the case as an “unnatural death.” He stressed that the state police are duty-bound to register an FIR in such heinous crimes.

Doctors across the nation, including in Kolkata, Guwahati, Hyderabad, and Mumbai, have been demanding justice for the victim. Protestors held placards with messages like “Justice needs to be served,” “No duty without security,” and “Justice delayed is justice denied.”
