Indian Embassy Celebrates Independence Day with Kathak Dance in Kathmandu
On August 13, the Indian Embassy in Kathmandu hosted a Kathak dance recital by Arpita Dutta and her troupe from India as part of the 78th Independence Day celebrations. The event was attended by Hon. Mr. Badri Prasad Pandey, Nepal’s Minister for Culture, Tourism & Civil Aviation, along with distinguished members of the Government of Nepal, the Nepali Army, the diplomatic community, cultural fraternity, media, and civil society.
The Indian Embassy in Kathmandu has been organizing various programs annually to celebrate Independence Day. This year, the Kathak performance will also be presented in four major cities of Nepal: Birgunj, Hetauda, Biratnagar, and Pokhara.
The embassy noted that the recital mesmerized the audience and that the dance troupe will continue their tour in Nepal with scheduled performances in the coming days.
