Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren Celebrates 49th Birthday with Party Workers in Ranchi
Ranchi (Jharkhand) [India], August 11: Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren celebrated his 49th birthday with party workers at his residence in Ranchi, Jharkhand. The celebration included dhols and musical instruments, creating a festive atmosphere outside his house on Saturday.
Soren was seen cutting a cake and sharing it with party workers. Reflecting on his birthday, he remembered the mark he received in jail, calling it a ‘current challenge of our democracy.’
In a social media post on X, Hemant Soren wrote, ‘Today, on the occasion of my birthday, the memory of the past one year is etched in my mind – that is the prisoner’s mark – which was put on me when I was released from jail. This mark is not only a symbol of mine, but also of the current challenges of our democracy.’
He further stated that he was kept in jail for 150 days without any proof or crime. ‘When an elected Chief Minister can be put in jail for 150 days without any proof, without any complaint, without any crime, then what will they do with the common tribals/Dalits/exploited people – I don’t need to say this,’ he added.
Soren reiterated his commitment to fighting for the rights of oppressed, deprived, Dalit, backward, tribal, and Indigenous people. ‘I will raise my voice for every person/community that has been suppressed, that has been denied justice, that is being persecuted on the basis of its colour, community, food habits, clothing. We have to unite and build a society where the law is equal for all, where there is no misuse of power,’ he stated.
He acknowledged the challenges ahead but expressed confidence in overcoming them together. ‘Our country’s unity and diversity is our strength,’ he concluded.
Soren also expressed his gratitude to everyone who wished him on his birthday, writing, ‘Once again, thank you all for your love and the prayers, blessings and affection you are giving me today.’
