Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah Inaugurates Memorial for Former Governor B Rachaiah

Chamarajanagar (Karnataka) [India], August 10: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah inaugurated the memorial of former Governor B Rachaiah. He praised Rachaiah for his dedication to the oppressed and his influential role in state politics.

Siddaramaiah said, “Rachaiah was the most renowned politician in the state politics. He would talk less and work more for the poor.” He added, “Rachaiah, who was influential in Ramakrishna Hegde’s ministerial circle, could nurture people-orientated politicians.”

The CM recalled that Hegde and Rachaiah made him the president of the Kannada Kavalu Samiti and then made him minister. “If I had not become a minister then, I would not have been able to become the Chief Minister for the second time today,” Siddaramaiah said.

Siddaramaiah emphasized that today’s legislators, ministers, and chief ministers owe their positions to the constitution given by Baba Saheb Ambedkar. He added that Rachaiah is a role model for today’s young generation.

The Memorial has been constructed in Aluru village by Chamarajanagar District Administration and Social Welfare Department. The event was presided over by MLA C. Puttarangshetty, Chamarajanagar District In-charge Minister K. Venkatesh, Social Welfare Minister H. C. Mahadevappa, Law Minister H. K. Patil, Rachaiah’s wife Gouramma, MP Sunil Bose, MLAs A. R. Krishnamurthy, and leaders including HM Ganesh Prasad, MR Manjunath, and Vidhan Parishad member Thimmaiah.
