Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel Inaugurates IACC-MSME Centre of Excellence in Ahmedabad

The Indo-American Chamber of Commerce (IACC) launched its first ‘IACC-MSME Centre of Excellence’ at the KCG auditorium, i-HUB campus in Ahmedabad. The event was inaugurated by Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel.

Importance of MSMEs in Gujarat

Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel highlighted the crucial role of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Gujarat’s economy. He mentioned that there are 19.80 lakh registered MSMEs in the state, providing employment to 1.07 crore people. Patel emphasized that the quality of services like electricity and roads has improved, making Gujarat a preferred location for industries.

Strengthening India-US Industrial Relations

Patel also noted that the new Centre of Excellence will strengthen industrial relations between India and the United States. He reiterated Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of providing a global platform for Gujarat’s industries through initiatives like the Vibrant Gujarat Summit.

Support from IACC

IACC President Pankaj Bahora spoke about the significance of the Chief Minister’s presence and the strong industrial ties between Gujarat and the US. He explained that the Centre aims to equip MSMEs with the skills and knowledge needed to navigate global markets and enhance their export capabilities.

Future Plans

Pankaj Bohra, National President of IACC, stated that the Centre will help MSMEs tap into opportunities in the US market by addressing challenges and providing necessary tools and guidance. He also mentioned plans to launch similar Centres of Excellence in other cities.

Collaborations and Conference

The IACC has signed Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) with the National Skill Development Corporation and other organizations to support MSMEs. They are also collaborating with the US Embassy to ensure the initiative’s success. The launch event included a day-long conference focusing on empowering MSMEs for future-ready exports, export finance, and export incentives.
