Donald Trump to be Interviewed by Elon Musk Next Week
Former US President Donald Trump has announced that he will be interviewed by billionaire CEO and entrepreneur Elon Musk next week. Trump shared this news on his Truth Social media platform, stating, “On Monday night I’ll be doing a major interview with Elon Musk.” He added that more details will follow.
This announcement comes after Musk, who owns the social media platform X, endorsed Trump’s candidacy following an attempted assassination on Trump in Pennsylvania. Musk’s endorsement marked a significant shift from the usual neutrality maintained by social media platform leaders.
Trump’s account, which was permanently suspended by Twitter (now X) after the January 6, 2021, Capitol Hill attack, was reinstated under Musk’s ownership. Additionally, Musk pledged $45 million per month to a new political action committee, America PAC, which will focus on voter outreach and registration efforts to counter the Democrats’ campaigns.
Trump’s planned interview with Musk follows his recent interview with live streamer Adin Ross at his Mar-a-Lago residence, which helped the streaming platform ‘Kick’ break its viewing record.
Meanwhile, Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris has selected Minnesota Governor Tim Walz as her running mate. In related news, five secretaries of state have urged Musk to implement changes to X’s AI chatbot Grok after it shared false information about Kamala Harris’s eligibility for the 2024 presidential ballot.
