On Monday, Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina met with India’s National Security Advisor Ajit Doval at the Hindon Air Base in Ghaziabad. They discussed the current situation in Bangladesh and her future plans. The Indian Air Force has heightened security and moved her to a safe location.

Sheikh Hasina arrived in a C-130 Hercules military transport aircraft. Security has been increased outside the Bangladesh High Commission in Delhi following her arrival. A senior BSF officer stated that they are in constant contact with Border Guard Bangladesh, and traffic movement at the India-Bangladesh border is restricted due to the curfew in Bangladesh.

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar briefed PM Modi about the political situation in Bangladesh. Former Bangladesh PM Khaleda Zia and BNP leaders urged the public to remain calm. The anti-discrimination student movement plans to announce the outline of a national government at 8 pm local time.

Protesters in Bangladesh stormed the Prime Minister’s official residence after Sheikh Hasina resigned and left the country. They set fire to Awami League offices and celebrated her resignation.
