Wayanad, Kerala, experienced severe landslides, causing significant damage and loss of life. Congress MP Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi visited the affected areas and committed to building over 100 houses for displaced families.

Rahul Gandhi stated, “This is a terrible tragedy. We are here to help and commit to building 100 plus houses.” Kerala Higher Education Minister R Bindu announced that the National Service Scheme will volunteer to construct houses for 150 families.

The Indian Navy and Army are actively involved in rescue operations. The Army rescued four people from the rubble. Kerala Health Minister Veena George confirmed 308 deaths, with 195 bodies and 113 body parts recovered so far.

The Indian Air Force will deploy C-130 aircraft with specialized drone systems to assist in sub-soil evacuation monitoring.
