Sanjana Chauhan Helps Kids See Better with ‘Drishti’ in Delhi

Sanjana Chauhan, a class XI student from New Delhi, has launched a noble initiative called ‘Drishti’ to help underprivileged children take care of their eyes. At an age when most teenagers are enjoying their lives, Sanjana is making a difference by focusing on eyecare for those who need it the most.

‘Drishti’ aims to make eyecare accessible to everyone. The campaign includes free eye check-up camps, distribution of free spectacles, and medicines. These camps have been organized across Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR).

Speaking about her campaign, Sanjana said, “We know the importance of eyes in our lives, and one cannot function without healthy eyes. While teaching a few students in a slum area, I noticed that the students were not able to see the blackboard. After talking with them, I came to know that their vision had been affected but they did not understand the gravity of the situation and never got their eyes checked.”

She added, “Many times, eye disorders are not taken seriously, especially by the underprivileged sections, and they think that their eyes will be fine in due course of time. This led me to initiate this campaign, this is just the beginning of my journey and we aim to benefit thousands of children through this campaign.”
