CBI Arrests NBCC Ltd. DGM Varun Popli for Alleged Bribery in Leh Project

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested Varun Popli, Deputy General Manager (DGM) of NBCC Ltd., for allegedly demanding and accepting a bribe. The complainant, who is working on a construction project in Leh, reported that Popli initially demanded Rs 7.40 lakh, which later increased to Rs 11.40 lakh.

During a sting operation, Popli was caught red-handed accepting Rs 5 lakh. He has been arrested and will be presented before the Court of Competent Jurisdiction in Delhi on Thursday. A search was also conducted at his residence in Delhi, and further investigations are ongoing.
