The landslides struck Mundakkai and Chooralmala, causing extensive destruction. Rescue operations are ongoing, with the Indian Army building a bridge to aid efforts. Details of the Landslides

The first landslide occurred in Mundakkai, and the second in Chooralmala. These landslides damaged houses, roads, and uprooted trees, making rescue operations difficult. Relief efforts are currently underway.

Casualties and Rescue Efforts

According to the Kerala Revenue Department, 167 people have died. The Department of Information and Public Relations (PRD) Control Room in Wayanad has identified 96 victims, including 77 men, 67 women, and 22 children. The Indian Army is building a 190-ft-long Bailey bridge to connect the affected areas and speed up rescue operations.
