Train Derailment in Jharkhand
Two people were killed after several coaches of the Howrah-CSMT Express derailed near Chakradharpur in Jharkhand. The accident occurred around 3:45 am, and relief teams were dispatched to manage the situation. 116 injured are being treated at various hospitals.
Landslide in Kerala’s Wayanad
Over 80 bodies were recovered from the landslide-hit regions in Wayanad. Union Minister of State George Kurian is leading the relief operations, coordinating with various agencies. Kerala Forest Minister Saseendran and other state ministers are also involved in the rescue efforts.
Rescue Operations
An Indian Navy team from Ezhimala Naval Base in Kannur is assisting in the rescue operations at Chooralmala. The Army and Air Force have also been mobilized. The India Meteorological Department has issued a red alert for eight districts in Kerala due to heavy rainfall.
