Congress Leader Manickam Tagore Demands Accountability for Delhi’s Infrastructure Tragedies

New Delhi, July 29: Congress MP Manickam Tagore has given an adjournment motion notice in Lok Sabha, demanding a discussion on the accountability for recent infrastructure tragedies in Delhi. Tagore emphasized the urgent need to address these issues.

Leader of the opposition in Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, also criticized the lack of planning that led to the deaths of three students. He expressed his condolences to the bereaved families and highlighted the collective failure of the system.

On July 27, three UPSC aspirants lost their lives at an IAS coaching center in West Delhi’s Old Rajinder Nagar due to waterlogging in the basement. The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) has since sealed several properties for violating building by-laws in response to the incident.

The tragedy has sparked protests by students and residents demanding justice. The Delhi Police arrested the owner and coordinator of the coaching center, who have been sent to 14 days of judicial custody.
