Manu Bhaker Wins Bronze at Paris Olympics
Indian shooter Manu Bhaker secured a bronze medal in the Women’s Air Pistol event at the Paris Olympics. This achievement marks India’s first medal at the ongoing games.

Historic Achievement
The 22-year-old Bhaker became the first Indian woman to win a medal in shooting at the Olympics. She scored 221.7 points to secure the bronze. This victory is especially significant as it comes after her pistol malfunctioned at the Tokyo Olympics. Bhaker is the first Indian woman in 20 years to reach a shooting final in an individual event since Suma Shirur in 2004.

South Korea’s Ye Jin won the gold medal with an Olympic record of 243.2 points, while her compatriot Kim Yeji took the silver with 241.3 points.
Qualification Round
On the opening day, Bhaker finished third in the qualification round of Women’s 10 Metre Air Pistol to qualify for the final. Unfortunately, Rhythm Sangwan did not make it to the final, finishing in 15th place.
