Delhi LG VK Saxena Orders Investigation into Tragic Deaths of Three Students in Flooded Coaching Centre
New Delhi, July 28: Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena has called for a detailed report by July 30 on the deaths of three students following flooding in a coaching centre in Old Rajinder Nagar. He assured that those responsible will be held accountable.
Expressing his sorrow, Saxena stated, “While nothing can bring back the precious young lives lost due to apathy of the administration and criminal misconduct of those running coaching institutions, the responsibility of those who caused the loss of lives will be fixed and the guilty will be brought to book.”
Delhi Minister Gopal Rai also emphasized the urgency of the investigation and mentioned that the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) has been instructed to take immediate action against illegal coaching institutes operating in basements.
Meanwhile, students are protesting in Old Rajinder Nagar, demanding swift action. The victims, identified as Shreya Yadav from Uttar Pradesh, Tanya Soni from Telangana, and Nivin Dalwin from Kerala, were sent to RML Hospital for autopsy. The police have arrested the owner and coordinator of the coaching centre.
