Israel Plans to Fix Farmland Damaged by War with Hamas
Israel’s Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security has shared a plan to restore farmland damaged during the ‘Iron Swords’ war against Hamas in Gaza. The initial restoration costs range from 1,000 to 3,000 Shekels (USD 272 – USD 816) per dunam, depending on the severity of the damage.
The plan includes:
- Cleaning waste and damaged crops
- Removing contaminated soil and construction waste
- Repairing drainage systems and access roads
- Rehabilitating soil and crop growth
- Compensating for reduced crop yields
Since October 7, military activities have severely impacted soil fertility and crop growth, requiring extensive rehabilitation efforts.
