CM Sukhu Announces New Police District and School Changes in Himachal Pradesh
The monsoon session of the Himachal Pradesh Assembly is set to begin on August 27 and will continue until September 9, 2024. The session will have 10 sittings.
New Police District and Posts
Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu’s Cabinet has decided to create a new Police District in Dehra, with its headquarters in Dehra. The Cabinet also approved the creation and filling of 39 posts in various categories. Additionally, Police Posts Dadasiba and Majheen will be upgraded to Police Stations, and new Police Posts in Jwalamukhi City and Moin will be established.
Fruit Procurement
The Cabinet approved the procurement of apple, kinnow, malta, orange, and mango fruits under the Market Intervention Scheme at Rs. 12 per kg, while galgal will be procured at Rs. 10 per kg. The procurement periods for these fruits have also been specified.
School Mergers and Closures
The Cabinet decided to merge Government Primary Schools within a 2-kilometer radius and Government Middle Schools within a 3-kilometer radius if they have five or fewer students. Schools with zero enrollment will be closed. All teachers, including Head Teachers and Principals, will be required to teach students, and schools will hold daily morning assemblies with the national anthem.
Other Approvals
The Cabinet approved the creation of new posts in various departments, including the Jal Shakti Vibhag and the Public Works Department. It also approved the recruitment of 21 Civil Judges through direct recruitment.
